Pre-Chiropractic
Chiropractors take a natural, preventative approach to healthcare without the use of drugs or surgery. They primarily treat patients with health problems of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems.
Pre-Dentistry
Dentists diagnose and treat problems with a patient’s teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth. They also administer advice for care and prevention of future dental problems.
Pre-Medicine
Medical doctors promote, maintain and restore health through studying, diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries and other ailments. There are three types of physicians in the United States: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.).
Pre-Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists treat patients of all ages with injuries, illnesses or disabilities through the therapeutic use of everyday activities.
Pre-Optometry
Optometrists examine, diagnose, treat and manage diseases and disorders of the eye, visual system and associated structures. They can specialize in many areas, including: contact lenses, vision therapy and ocular disease.
Pre-Pharmacy
Pharmacists dispense prescription medications to patients and offer them knowledge in the safe use of these drugs. They also, provide general health advice, conduct wellness screenings and give immunizations.
Pre-Physical Therapy
Physical therapists develop plans for patients who are limited in their ability to move and perform functional activities as well as they would like. They use techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.
Pre-Physician Assistant
Physician assistants are medical professionals who work alongside medical doctors. They perform examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret lab tests, perform procedures, provide patient education and more.
Pre-Veterinarian
Veterinarians care for the health of animals. Some specialize in small animals like cats, dogs, birds and fish, while others specialize in large animals like horses, cows, pigs and sheep.
