MBA Courses & Curriculum

The objective of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offered by the Paseka School of Business at Minnesota State University Moorhead program courses include content covering quantitative methods, entrepreneurship, international marketing, project management, healthcare, accounting, finance and investments. The MBA program is a professional program that serves students with undergraduate degrees in any field of study, but can be utilized with an undergraduate business administration degree as a fifth-year extension program. The program is structured to provide students with an operational understanding of the functional areas of business, the tools to apply critical thinking skills to managerial decisions, and a framework for strategic thinking and planning that applies to all areas of business.

  • Accounting & Finance emphasis prepares business leaders by providing experience in solving financial problems, accounting research, financial statements analysis, and effective communication. Common career options using this emphasis include finance manager, financial advisor, certified public accountant (CPA) and investment manager.
  • Healthcare emphasis will increase your operational understanding of the functional areas of healthcare organizations, develop tools to elevate critical thinking and analysis to healthcare leadership and acquire a framework for strategic planning that applies to all areas of healthcare. This interdisciplinary program draws courses and faculty expertise from the Paseka School of Business, the Department of Economics and the Department of Health Services Administration.
  • Management emphasis will provide you with the knowledge necessary to become an effective leader who embodies an analytical approach to business. With this emphasis, you’ll have a solid framework for strategic planning that applies to all areas of business. Common career options using this emphasis include business operations manager, management analysis and marketing and human resources manager.
  • Personalized emphasis allows you to customize your MBA degree to fit your career goals. With the personalized option, you can choose courses from each of the other three emphases.

Students can take MBA courses online, on campus or both. Online courses may have optional live interactive sessions. Students who are unable to attend the live sessions will have the opportunity to review the session recordings.
