Accelerated RN to MSN Online Degree Pathway
New Accelerated Online Degree Pathway for Nursing Students
The School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership (SNHL) at MSUM offers several pathways to elevate your potential as a current and future healthcare professional. One pathway, the accelerated RN to MSN pathway, allows you to complete your MSN in an efficient manner with options of emphasis in Nursing Administration and Organizational Systems Leadership (NAOSL) or Nurse Educator (NED). The accelerated RN to MSN pathway offers RN to BSN students the opportunity to indicate their intent to continue with MSUM’s MSN program upon completion of the RN to BSN program and take graduate level courses during their BSN program of study. Once the BSN degree is completed, MSUM RN to BSN students complete an abbreviated MSN application, to formally be admitted to the MSN program. Throughout the program, students will work with their academic advisor to customize an individualized, efficient progression plan.
Your First Graduate Course Could Be Free!
Scholarship funds may cover the cost of your first graduate-level class! Complete the Single Scholarship Application and indicate that you plan to enroll in an accelerated master’s program at MSUM. This funding is available for Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 courses only. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come basis, so complete your scholarship application by the priority deadline of Dec. 15 and talk to your advisor about pursuing the accelerated graduate program. Advantages of MSUM’s Accelerated RN to MSN Online Degree Pathway
The accelerated RN to MSN pathway provides many advantages to students:
- Completion in shorter time frame - Strategic advising promotes efficient, cost-saving completion of both undergraduate BSN and graduate MSN degrees
- The pathway leverages MSN course credits to fulfill both undergraduate upper-division credit requirements and graduate degree requirements
- RN to BSN students can take up to nine (9) MSN course credits while enrolled in the RN to BSN Program before acceptance into the MSN Program.
- Students will work with their RN-BSN faculty advisor to maximize their courses and complete the steps needed for the course enrollment and course exceptions.

If you have already fulfilled some requirements your individualized plan may be shorter. The program progression is completely customizable to what works for you. Just work with your faculty advisor on your individual needs.
