College of Education & Human Services Departments & Degrees

Just as hands-on “real world” work is inherent to the human services professions, authentic hands-on experience is an integral part of the education and human services curricula. Many of our programs place students in field experiences as part of the very first introductory course to ensure their education is grounded in practice as well as theory. Throughout their programs of study, students are immersed in many hours of service learning, volunteer work, internships, student teaching or field experiences to provide the practical skills and knowledge needed to excel.

Students in our programs enjoy moderate class sizes and a high level of personalized interaction with their instructors. Faculty members strive to be accessible, approachable and student-centered, with students reporting that this close interaction is one of the things they value most about their educational experience at MSUM and beyond.
