As the Dean of Students, I coordinate support services for students who are experiencing a variety of challenges and oversee the areas of accessibility resources, student conduct, counseling services, and the CARE Team. I serve as the University's Title IX Coordinator, as well. I grew up in southwestern Minnesota, graduating from Russell-Tyler High School. I earned a B.A. in English and Communications/Business from Augustana University, an M.S. Counseling and Student Affairs from MSUM, and a Ph.D. in Education from NDSU. I have worked in a variety of areas over the past 25+ years, including residence life, student activities, service-learning, diversity initiatives, multicultural programs, and Title IX. I love being part of the Dragon Family!

I meet with students regarding reports of misconduct on and off campus, including academic and non-academic matters. I also meet with students to discuss resolving conflicts between themselves and others. I oversee the code of student conduct (in the student handbook), investigate protected-class based harassment and discrimination reports against students, and serve as a member of the university Care Team and Bias Incident Response Team. I earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in English from the University of South Dakota, and I have a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of North Dakota. I have worked in the areas of student conduct, Title IX, residential life, diversity and inclusion programs, and new student orientation.

As the VP of Human Resources and Workplace Equity, Ann leads the department in all aspects of Human Resources most notably labor and employee relations. She also serves on the Senior Executive Leadership team and the University Cabinet, as well as various University committees.

Jason Sobolik is in his eighteenth year at MSUM, and ninth year as the Assistant Athletics...

Jason Sobolik is in his eighteenth year at MSUM, and ninth year as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance & Student Services. In 2009 Sobolik took on the role as Compliance Coordinator while also fulfilling his role as assistant women’s basketball coach. He was appointed to his current role in 2012. Sobolik served as assistant women’s basketball coach from 2003-2012. Sobolik joined the MSUM family in 2003 and was promoted to number one assistant on the women’s basketball staff in August of 2005. During his time as an assistant he helped the Dragons build a 162-99 record, advanced to NCAA Division II Central Regional tournament three times and captured a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference crown in 2005. The Dragons reached the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference postseason in each of his nine seasons. Sobolik was named head softball coach at MSUM in 2004 and directed the Dragons to a 36-17 finish. He was honored as the NSIC Softball Coach of the Year. Sobolik coached a USA Select Softball team that captured the Bronze medal at the 2005 Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia. The Mandan, N.D., native graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Social Studies Education. He earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from MSUM. Sobolik is a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) and serves on the Division II NAAC Committee, the NAAC Reasonable Standards Committee and the NCAA Division II Committee on Infractions.
