Alum and 6-year mens basketball player, Gavin Baumgartner, reflects on his time at MSUM and what is in store for his future.

Meet Brad Shamla, one of the newest MSUM Foundation Board members. He learned valuable life lessons as co-captain of the Dragon Football team, which helped him throughout his successful career. He looks forward to supporting future generations of MSUM students and playing a role in their success.

MSUM’s men’s basketball team defends its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Tournament title. From there, the Dragons will almost certainly head to the NCAA Division II Championships by virtue of their record during the regular season. Meanwhile, our track and field athletes have been enjoying a noteworthy postseason with a number of Dragons taking first place in events at the recent NSIC Indoor Championships.

MSUM has recently been named the 2023 recipient of the NCAA Division II Award of Excellence.

Katie Merrick is using her experience and skills gained from her communication studies degree to aid her in her work for the Fargo Force.

At MSUM, Life in the Balance ensures that our student-athletes’ holistic well-being is at the center of our athletics program. It’s also a core commitment being sought in the next Director of Dragons Athletics.

Alumni Pete and Tanya Dickinson are strong advocates of the Dragon wrestling program.

Diane Miller graduated from MSUM in 2009 with a degree in music. Since then, she has been immersed in the music industry. Diane is now the host of The Local Show on The Current.

Midwest West Moving Company was started four years ago by three former MSUM Dragons.

Meet Jan Mahoney, an MSUM Foundation Board member and retired vice president of finance and administration. Jan’s Dragon pride runs deep and she has helped see many projects through at the university.

Initiated by athletes following George Floyd’s death, Dragons Stand Together provides education, resources, and support for the campus and surrounding community.
