Historical Sketch

Through the combined efforts of the Women’s Resource Center, Crookston, Minnesota and the Women and Health Task Force of the Agassiz Chapter of the National Organization for Women in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, the Martha Rogers Ripley Alliance for Battered Women was founded. The purpose of the Alliance was to establish and maintain a shelter in Region I for battered women, to provide training for people who work with the victims of battering, and to provide supportive and a helpful environment for all abused women in Region I. 

Collection Description

The records are arranged in alphabetical order. The Department of Correction has been processed and retained with the Ripley Alliance Records due to the legal and financial role it played in the continuation of the Shelter.
