Graphic Design Scholarships

MSUM offers a variety of Graphic Design scholarships for current and incoming students. Scholarships are listed below. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application October 1-February 1.

The School of Media Arts & Design has a generous scholarship program. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 and outstanding achievement in academics, artistic/creative activities, or department service are required to be eligible for the scholarships to Animation, Film Production, Film Studies, Graphic Communications and Graphic Design.

Freshman Scholarship

Eligibility

  1. You will declare a major in the School of Media Arts & Design (Animation, Film Production, Film Studies, Graphic Communications and Graphic Design). You will actively participate in departmental co-curricular activities.

Department Scholarships

Eligibility

  1. You must be enrolled in the School of Media Arts & Design
  2. You must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
  3. You should be involved in department activities

Art & Design Scholarship are available for students majoring in any of the Media Art and Design disciplines who are in good academic standing.

No additional requirements needed

North Dakota and Minnesota residents pursuing a BA or BFA degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design are eligible for this award. Applicants must also be a member of the LGBTQ Identifying Students and Allies. 

This scholarship is awarded to Graphic Design majors that are actively involved in the student organization SPECTRUM and work to improve school climate for all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Applicant must be enrolled in the School of Media Arts & Design, have a GPA of 3.0 or above and should be involved in department activities.

This merit- and need-based scholarship is available to students who have declared an Art major in the School of Art who are seeking BFA in studio art with painting or drawing emphasis.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Fall Semester Junior and Senior class level, Certificate in Professional Portfolio Development

Demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA application.  If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at www.fafsa.gov.  FAFSA results must be received by the deadline date of February 1 to be considered for this scholarship.
