Director of Graduate Studies Maya Sosa Machado, PhD, shares what MSUM graduate studies looks for in candidates and discusses what has changed in recent years. It has become less about finding the perfect "fit" and more about finding unique voices and new perspectives.

MSUM welcomes its first Master of Social Work cohort, with students working to advance in their licensure, increase their earning potential, expand their skillsets, and even teach the next generation of social workers.

MSUM is proud to be in partnership with Project Infuse. The program's mission is to provide equitable and culturally informed mental health services within high-need pre-K-12 schools through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Women ignite powerful change. That’s why, when three women at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) joined forces to overhaul the university’s athletic training program, it evolved into an exciting new opportunity for students. 

Midwest West Moving Company was started four years ago by three former MSUM Dragons.

Graduate students in MSUM’s counseling program addressed a gap in youth mental health services by offering free therapy via telehealth to K-12 students in rural school districts.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is far-reaching and has presented countless new challenges, especially in the mental health field. The pandemic also impacted the delivery of face-to-face counseling services because of social distancing.

Faculty in MSUM's Department of Leadership & Learning developed a survey to learn about teachers’ and administrators’ experiences transitioning to online learning during COVID-19.

Dragons have long been advocates for social change. Mirroring nationwide movements, MSUM has proven throughout the years to be at the forefront of acceptance and change.
