Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Monica Schneider

Meet Monica Schneider, a Mental Health Program Therapist. Monica works with students and people who have mental health needs.

Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: I love working with a population who is trying to figure out what they want to pursue next.

Q: What unique skill from your past job do you bring to MSUM?
A: Working with a wide range of people and making therapy not scary for someone to walk through our doors. I really want to make it approachable.

Q: What energizes you at work?
A: Being able to be that person, that safe spot, for someone to be able to come to. Helping and knowing that students are learning, watching their development and their mental health. It's an amazing thing.

Q: What do you do to turn things around when you're having a bad day?
A: Watching funny videos of my dog and taking walks on campus.

Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A: I would want to tour all the European countries, to be able to do a little bit of each. But if I had to pick one place, I would go to Belize.

Q: Are you a dog or cat person?
A: I'm a dog person. I don't mind cats, but I'm definitely more by a dog person.

Q: What’s your favorite place to eat in the Fargo, Moorhead area?
A: Lucky’s 13 Pub, specifically the Monte Cristo sandwich.
