SLHS Scholarships

MSUM Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences undergraduate and graduate students have eligibility for scholarships. Students are encouraged to explore the options and apply by the deadlines. The scholarships are generally awarded for the following academic year. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application October 1-February 1.

Each spring the SLHS scholarship committee informs students of the application process and deadline for scholarships awarded within the department. The number of scholarship awards varies based on availability of funds.

Eligibility

  1. Recipients must be enrolled at MSUM during the disbursement of the awards.
  2. Applicants should demonstrate strong academic performance.

Full time student in their junior year or above, including graduate students, who are majoring in the SLHS program.  Must show financial need.  Financial need is determined by completing the FAFSA by the scholarship application deadline.  If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at www.fafsa.gov.

Full time undergraduate students enrolled in the Speech/Language/Hearing Sciences program. 

The SERTOMA scholarship is open to students who demonstrate exemplary service to community as well as academic achievement.  Preference will be given to an active member in the undergraduate National Student Speech, Language, Hearing Association (NSSLHA)/Collegiate SERTOMA.

Awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Speech Language Hearing Sciences, with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and have earned a minimum of 30 credits.

The National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) Bookstore Award is oopen to students who are currently at junior status (will have senior status in the fall term). The recipient of the NSSLHA Bookstore Award must show both outstanding service to their NSSLHA group as well as academic achievement. Applicant must be a member of the NSSLHA/Collegiate SERTOMA.
