Music Scholarships

MSUM offers a variety of music scholarships for vocalists and instrumentalists alike. Music majors and non-music majors are equally considered for scholarship awards in order to perform in MSUM ensembles such as the Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Guitar Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble. Area-specific scholarships for music education, piano, composition and academics are also available for current students and upperclassmen. Students can also apply for general university scholarships through the online scholarship application.

Music Scholarship Auditions

Scholarship Auditions for the 2020-2021 school year will be held during the MSUM Campus Preview Days, Friday, October 18, 2019 & Monday, February 17, 2020 or by appointment prior to March 1. Students may also provide a link to an online audition (YouTube, DropBox) prior to the March 1 deadline if they cannot come to campus, but on campus auditions are preferred if possible. Contact the School of Performing Arts to set-up your appointment.

Please Note: All music scholarship students are greatly encouraged to also apply for an academic scholarship based upon your SAT/ACT scores. The deadline for an academic scholarship application is February 1, 2020.
