Elementary Education Scholarships

MSUM offers a variety of Teaching & Learning scholarships for current and incoming students. Scholarships are listed below. Students can also apply for scholarships through the online scholarship application, October 1-February 1.

Scholarship Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning.
  2. Applicants must be of good academic standing.

The Ada Fick Scholarship Endowment is an upper class scholarship that is designated for Elementary Education majors who are older than average, junior or senior status with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

This scholarship is designated for Elementary Education students who are in good academic standing.

The Anna Wilson Gunderson Scholarship is for juniors or seniors majoring in Education, specifically Elementary Education, with the intent to teach are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants must have graduated from a public high school in Lake Park, Hitterdal, Hawley, Glyndon, or Ulen, Minn.

Full time student majoring in Elementary Education

This scholarship is available to Early Childhood Education majors.  Applicant must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and must be in good academic standing.

Student majoring in the School of Teaching and Learning

Graduate student who has completed at least 16 credits in the Educational Leadership Program are eligible for this award. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5.

This scholarship is available to students majoring in Elementary Education.

Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and be of good academic standing.

This scholarship is available to junior or senior students majoring in Elementary or Special Education.

Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and be of good academic standing.

Students who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Military and are in an education-related major are eligible for this scholarship.

Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and be of good academic standing.

Students from Minnesota entering the teaching field are eligible for this scholarship.

Junior or senior students majoring in Elementary Education who originated from the Hawley or Barnsville school districts. The recipient must also demonstrate high academic standards.

Applicant must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and must be of good academic standing.

Senior majoring in Elementary Education who demonstrates activities and interests that reflect concern for children; demonstrate diligent, methodical means of accomplishing goals; and have a strong moral compass.

Applicant must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and must be of good academic standing.

Student will be pursuing a teaching degree who is enrolled as a full time student with demonstrated financial need.  Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Financial need is determined through the FAFSA.  If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at www.fafsa.gov.  FAFSA results must be received by the application deadline date.

Junior or senior students majoring in elementary education, who are in good academic standing, have need, and are of good character, are eligible for this award.

Criteria include high academic standing, community service and leadership.
