Senior Kevin Morales-Hernandez had the opportunity to spend his summer in California at the Television Academy Foundation.

MSUM graphic design and film students attended the 2023 North Dakota American Advertising Federation’s (AAF-ND) Awards show on February 24. They received ADDY awards on account of their hard work and creativity in their projects.

Disney World, “A Place Where Dreams Come True,” rings true for MSUM student Abbi Williams. Abbi is a part of the Disney College Program and is currently working in Florida as a crew member while attending online courses through MSUM.  

The holiday video is always a shining example of our students’ creativity, skills and patience for intricate work.

Today we honor Jonathan Bauer, a second-year animation major at MSUM. He is originally from Montgomery, Minn. Jonathan served in the Army for three and a half years in active duty as a wheeled vehicle mechanic and wrecker operator. He first served in Camp Casey, South Korea, then in Fort Drum, New York.  

Angela Konz, a graphic communication major, and her partner Rebecca Zych, an animation major, created a Halloween-themed video game called “The Great Halloween Kerfuffle” for this year's conference. 

"House Hunters" featured MSUM alumni Poonam Budhiraja (2012, Broadcast Journalism and Film Studies), Jerry Griggs (2016, Business Administration and Management) and Alexa Dixson-Griggs (2015, Social Work) as Budhiraja showed the local couple houses to fit their growing family.

MSUM students Bridgett Grosz and MaryJo Nelson have been nominated for the 2021 Goldwater Scholarship. The Goldwater Scholarship is a highly competitive national award for students pursuing a career in science, mathematics, or engineering. Winners are expected to be announced at the end of March. 

Filmmaker Jason Spencer won television’s highest honor for a special on race and racism that he directed for PBS KIDS.

Virtual learning is nothing new to kids who have been in school through the pandemic, and new technology in the classroom will stick around long after students fully return. MSUM student Aubrie Vivant knew this when planning her web series, 'Space Chase.'
