Current Student Scholarships

Upper class scholarships are available to current MSU Moorhead students pursuing their first undergraduate degree who have completed at least 12 MSUM semester credits by the end of fall semester who are in good standing. MSUM Foundation offers scholarships gifted by alumni, businesses, friends and foundations to incoming, current, and graduate students. Many of these scholarships are available through individual departments, colleges and programs. Application and recommendation form are available in October with a deadline date of February 1 each year.

Competitive Upper Class Scholarships

Upper class scholarships are available to students pursing their first MSUM undergraduate degree. Applicants must be enrolled full-time (12 or more credits) each semester. The application is available annually October 1 with a February 1 deadline.

Available to students pursuing their first MSUM undergraduate degree.  Applicants must be full time students (12 or more MSUM credits) each semester at MSUM. No GPA requirement - only that the student is in good standing according to University policies.

Students must be from Cass or Clay County.  Awards based on academic merit.

The Byron and Nona Murray Scholarship is available to female students pursuing their first MSUM undergraduate degree.  Applicants must be full time students (12 or more MSUM credits) each semester at MSUM. The Charles Magel Upper Class Scholarship is available to students pursuing their first MSUM undergraduate degree who are US citizens. Applicants must be full time students (12 or more MSUM credits) each semester at MSUM. No GPA requirement - only that the student is in good standing according to University policies.

Available to students pursuing their first MSUM undergraduate degree.  Applicants must be full time students (12 or more MSUM credits) each semester at MSUM.  Female students in a non-traditional major with a 3.0 GPA or higher, and sophomore standing or above are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Current residents of Holmquist Hall are eligible for this scholarship.

Available to students pursuing their first MSUM undergraduate degree.  Applicants must be full time students (12 or more MSUM credits) each semester at MSUM. No GPA requirement - only that the student is in good standing according to University policies.

1.    Must be a full time student at MSU Moorhead during actual disbursement of the award(s).

2.    Awarded to an incoming Freshman with a HS GPA of 2.5 or higher.

3.    Demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA application. If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at www.fafsa.gov.  FAFSA results must be received by the scholarship application deadline date of February 1 in order to be considered for this scholarship.

4.    Preference will be given to recipients who are a resident of Minnesota.

Students who show financial need from the Napoleon, N.D. school district. Next choice would be someone from Logan County. If no applicant from Logan County, the award will be given to someone from North Dakota.

Floyd Hans was born in Addison Township, rural Davenport, ND.  He farmed the family farm until his retirement in 1968.  He was an active member of the Canaan Moravian Church, including Sunday school superintendent until he moved to Fargo.

This scholarship is for freshmen students from Fertile, Minn. If no freshman applies, the scholarship is available to upper class students from Fertile, or to an upper class education major.

The Nibbe Family Foundation Teacher Scholarship is available to students who meet the following criteria:

- The recipient will be enrolled as a full-time student at MSU Moorhead during the actual disbursement of the award(s).

- The student will be admitted into the MSU Moorhead Education program.

The recipient of this upper class scholarship must be a junior/senior who is a member of a MSUM fraternity or sorority who has a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
