Social Work Scholarships
MSUM offers Social Works scholarships for current and incoming students in the School of Social Work. Scholarships are listed below. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application October 1-February 1 each year.
The Diana Bertsch Fehr scholarship award is an endowed scholarship for social work students admitted into the program who are juniors or seniors with a 3.5 or higher GPA. Student must have definite plans to pursue graduate education. One scholarship will be awarded per year.
Criteria:
- Enrolled as a fulltime MSUM student during the award disbursement.
- Must be pursuing a BSW degree.
- Have financial need. Based on filing the FAFSA at fafsa.gov by the scholarship deadline date.
No additional requirements needed
The recipient of this award will meet the following preferred criteria:
Enrolled full time at MSUM during the actual disbursement of the award
Undergraduate or Graduate student pursuing degree in Social Work
Demonstrate financial need, based on filing the FAFSA at fafsa.gov by the scholarship deadline date
Awarded to undergraduate Social Work majors.
No additional requirements needed
This scholarship is designated for junior or senior students majoring in Social Work. Preference is given to single mothers and/or students from North Dakota and Minnesota.
Attach a brief essay discussing your experiences of being a single mother in Minnesota/North Dakota.
Juniors and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Students must have a strong record of community service (first preference) or Dragon SOS involvement is required.
Attach a brief essay discussing your history of community service; include dates of your service and specific activities you performed in each. Additionally, please discuss your involvement with the School of Social Work;s student organization Dragon SOS; please discuss specific activities in which you have particpated, and your role in each activity.
This scholarship is for students who are juniors or above who are social work majors who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference is given in this order: culturally diverse students, disabled students, and students with need.
Financial Need is determined through the FAFSA. If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at www.fafsa.gov. FAFSA results must be received by the scholarship application deadline date.

This scholarship is designated for Social Work students admitted to the program with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and involved in Dragon SOS.
Attach an essay discussing your activities in the School of Social Work's student organization Dragon SOS. Discuss the length of your involvement, specific activities in which you have participated, and your role in each activity.
