I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, holding licensure in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. My mental health experience is in a variety of areas, including the public school setting, the college setting, community outreach, and the outpatient setting. At the University of Minnesota-Duluth, I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in both community and K-12 counseling. I earned my Ph.D. at Capella University in Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. This is my fifth year at MSUM. You can find me teaching General Psychology, and the vast array of human development courses: Lifespan Development, Child and Adolescent, Adulthood and Aging, and Development Across Cultures. I also teach the Psychology of Women and Psychology of Food and Eating. I also have experience teaching Health Psychology, Personality Psychology, Career and Lifespan Exploration, Psychology of Adjustment, and Abnormal Psychology courses. My research interests are mindless eating and attitudes towards food and weight, and adaption to the workplace/education setting. My goal as an assistant professor is to make the courses I teach relevant to everyday life, create opportunities for personal growth and self-awareness, and help students make connections to the MSUM and greater F-M community. I am the advisor for the MSUM Psychology Club and Psi Chi.
I am a certified Safe Zone resource.
