MSUM School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award

The Minnesota State University Moorhead School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award recognizes the hard work and dedication of our alumni. Over the years, our graduates have distinguished themselves as clinicians, educators, leaders, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The Eva Vraspir Excellence in Nursing Award (1992-2015) recognized graduates who had achieved prominence and excellence in the Nursing field. After a brief hiatus, the award is being reinstated to not only honor a worthy nursing alumni, but also inspire nursing students and alumni. The MSU-Moorhead Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award is bestowed upon an alumni who meets the following criteria:

• The nurse’s accomplishments and contributions have made a signification impact on the profession of nursing.
• The nurse has made a commitment to excellence in serving those in the community.

Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award Criteria

• Graduate from MSUM’s nursing program (Graduate, RN to BSN, or BSN)
• Significant contribution to the profession through leadership, education, clinical practice, research, health policy, service or entrepreneurial initiative.
• Additional considerations will be given to applications who demonstrate innovation or creative solutions to challenges in healthcare.
• Has not received a previous MSUM Outstanding Alumni Award.

Nomination Requirements

• General demographic information of nominee (e.g. current email, phone, address, place of employment, maiden name if applicable).
• A 500-word or less description of why you believe the nominee should be considered for the MSUM Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award.
• Nomination committee will contact the nominee for the CV/resume.
• Nominations are due by March 1. Late entries will not be accepted.
• The award will be presented at an awards ceremony during Nurses Week in May every year.
