Economics Scholarships

MSUM offers a variety of Economics scholarships for current and incoming students. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application open October 1-February 1. Please note you must be an admitted student to apply.

This scholarship is for newly entering first-year students and is made possible through the generosity of alumni of the MSUM Economics program.

Requirements:

  1. Applicant must be an entering freshman and a declared major in Economics.
  2. Applicant must be enrolled in at least six credits in Economics in the first year and 30 (thirty) credits overall by the end of the spring semester.
  3. Applicant is eligible for a second year of funding by maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.25 in the Economics classes specifically and an overall GPA of 3.25 for the first year.  The second year must include at least 12 credits of Economics courses and 30 (thirty) credits overall.

Submit an essay of no more than 600 words on:  "Given the recession caused by COVID-19, should the Federal Government provide more fiscal stimulus?"

Essays will be evaluated on content, clarity, grammar and style.

This scholarship is awarded to students who have declared Economics as their major and demonstrate a strong academic standing.

No additional requirements are needed.

This scholarship is awarded to students who are declared majors in Economics. Students must hae completed at least 6 credits in Economics by the end of spring semester with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in Economics classes. Students must have completed 54 total credits with a minimum overall GPA of 3.25.
