School of Teaching & Learning Scholarships

MSUM offers a variety of early childhood, elementary, secondary and K-12 education scholarships for current and incoming students. Scholarships are listed below. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application October 1-February 1.

Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning.

The Ada Fick Scholarship Endowment is an upper class scholarship that is designated for Elementary Education majors who are older than average, junior or senior status with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

This scholarship is designated for Elementary Education students who are in good academic standing.

The Anna Wilson Gunderson Scholarship is for juniors or seniors majoring in Education, specifically Elementary Education, with the intent to teach are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants must have graduated from a public high school in Lake Park, Hitterdal, Hawley, Glyndon, or Ulen, Minn.

This scholarship is available to Early Childhood Education majors.  Applicant must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and must be in good academic standing.

Graduate student who has completed at least 16 credits in the Educational Leadership Program are eligible for this award. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5.

This scholarship is available to students majoring in Elementary Education.

Students who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Military or is a spouse or child of a veteran, and are in an education-related major are eligible for this scholarship.

Students from Minnesota entering the teaching field are eligible for this scholarship.

Junior or senior students majoring in Elementary Education who originated from the Hawley or Barnesville school districts. The recipient must also demonstrate high academic standards.

Applicant must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and must be of good academic standing.

Senior majoring in Elementary Education who demonstrates activities and interests that reflect concern for children; demonstrate diligent, methodical means of accomplishing goals; and have a strong moral compass.

Applicant must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and must be of good academic standing.

Student will be pursuing a teaching degree who is enrolled as a full time student with demonstrated financial need.  Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Financial need is determined through the FAFSA.  If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at www.fafsa.gov.  FAFSA results must be received by the scholarship application deadline date.

Full-time students majoring in Elementary Education are eligible for this scholarship.

Must be enrolled in the School of Teaching and Learning with a declared Elementary Education major who is in good academic standing.

Must be enrolled in the School of Teaching and Learning and delcared a Special Education major or minor who is in good academic standing.

Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning and must be of good academic standing. This scholarship is designated for students minoring in Special Education and/or majoring in Special Education who are graduate students.

Applicants must be enrolled in the School of Teaching & Learning.

Students majoring in Elementary Education are eligible for this scholarship.

Criteria include high academic standing, community service and leadership.
