School of Teaching & Learning Scholarships
MSUM offers a variety of early childhood, elementary, secondary and K-12 education scholarships for current and incoming students. Scholarships are listed below. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application October 1-February 1.
This scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students who are older than average, majoring in Elementary Education, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

This scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in Elementary Education.

This scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students who are majoring in the field of Education. Preference will be given to a student who is majoring in Elementary Education with an intent to teach. Students must be public high school graduates from Lake Park, Hitterdal, Hawley, Glyndon, or Ulen.

This scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in Early Childhood Education.

This scholarship is awarded to a graduate student who has completed at least 16 credits in the Educational Leadership Program and has a minimum GPA of 3.5.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are majoring in Elementary Education.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who have served or are currently serving in the US Military and in an Education related major.

This scholarship is awarded to students from Minnesota who are entering the teaching field.

This scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students who are majoring in Elementary Education. Students must have demonstrated high academic standards in their previous coursework. Preference will be given to students who are from Hawley or Barnesville and who demonstrate financial need.

This scholarship is awarded to senior students who are majoring in Elementary Education. Students must demonstrate diligent, methodical yet discreet means of accomplishing goals, have personal activitites and interests that reflect concern for children, and have a strong moral compass.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who demonstrate financial need and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors, hardworking, and making progress toward a teaching degree. Students should show strong leadership, promise, and potential.

External Scholarships
- Cass County Area Retired Teachers Scholarship - Qualifying candidates will have graduated from a Cass County ND High School, majoring in Elementary Education, have a B average or better, and be a college junior or senior in 2022-2023. Four $1000 scholarships will be awarded.
- Minnesota Teacher Candidate Grant - Qualifying candidates can receive up to $7,500 during their student teaching semester!

Early Childhood® MINNESOTA, a project of Child Care Aware of Minnesota, is a scholarship program intended to help early childhood and school-age care professionals increase their levels of education, compensation and commitment to the field.
