Rainbow Dragon Center (RDC)

The Rainbow Dragon Center includes sofas, lounge chairs, tables and chairs for studying, group work, or meetings, a resource section that includes free safer sex supplies, computers, and a library with books and magazines on LGBTQ+ topics. MSUM’s LGBTQ+ student organization, SPECTRUM, meets weekly in the space. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to use the center to spend time in between classes, enjoy snacks and coffee, connect with others, or browse our library and free resources. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+, are questioning your identity, are in the beginning stages of coming out, or are an ally, you are welcome in the Rainbow Dragon Center.

Vision

The Rainbow Dragon Center envisions a campus community that is inclusive and welcoming of all gender identities and sexual orientations. We work proactively to abolish homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, genderism, and other forms of oppression, while fostering a campus community that is committed to social justice and creating an equitable society.

Mission

The Rainbow Dragon Center provides an affirming, safe space for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA+), and allied community. It offers a supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and faculty to feel a sense of belonging, find community, and learn how to be an advocate and ally. The Rainbow Dragon Center provides support and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ students at MSUM, connecting them with resources and community members both on campus and in the larger Fargo-Moorhead area community.
