Welcome to the Dragon Community: Aidan Kolehmainen

Aidan Kolehmainen is the new Transfer Admissions Representative for the Office of Admissions. He assists transfer students as they transition to MSUM.

Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: Besides the fire breathing Dragon, admissions has become a home for me the last 3.5 years as a Dragon Ambassador and when I saw this position open up, I thought well, why not stay at home?

Q: What unique experiences or skills from your past job do you bring to MSUM?
A: I was already an ambassador for the last three years, so I have learned my way around and feel I can help students really connect to the campus.

Q: Do you have any previous/other connections to MSUM?
A: I was a Learning Community Mentor for the Art & Design Learning Community and a First-Year Mentor.

Q: What does your new role involve?
A: I meet with new students and get them connected with their advisors to choose classes. I’m there to answer any questions they might have.

Q: How do you prefer to start your workday?
A: A Peach Vibe Celsius.

Q: What energizes you outside of work?
A: Going out with my friends and to events around town. Collect Pokémon cards, watch Star Wars, all the nerd stuff.

Q: What’s your favorite place to eat in Fargo-Moorhead?
A: Space Aliens

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
A: A blue man’s group performance in percussion ensemble.

Q: If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
A: Teleportation
