Social Work Scholarships

MSUM offers Social Works scholarships for current and incoming students in the School of Social Work. Scholarships are listed below. Students can apply for university scholarships through the online scholarship application October 1-February 1 each year.

This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Social Work.

This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Social Work. 

No additional requirements are needed.

This scholarship is awarded to upperclass students who are majoring in Social Work. Preference will be give to single mothers and to students who are from North Dakota and/or Minnesota.

This scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students who are majoring in Social Work with a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Student must have demonstrated service commitment, leadership, or participation in volunteer work, community involvement, or MSUM Student Social Work Association.

This scholarship is awarded to upperclass students who are majoring in Social Work. Students must be formally admitted to the Social Work program, a minority student (Mexican American, Native American, disabled individuals, students with serious financial need), and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Community service and volunteer work is a deciding factor in a tie. 

Financial need is determined through the FAFSA. If you have not completed a FAFSA already, you can do so at studentaid.gov. 

No additional requirements are needed.

This scholarship is awarded to upperclass students who are majoring in Social Work and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students must be formally admitted to the Social Work Program, have a definite plan for graduate studies, show commitment to community involvement, and have a highly developed sense of social justice and equality for the poor, homeless, and people of color.
