MSUM’s BS in Nursing is designed as an 8-semester program. After completing prerequisite courses and upon acceptance into the nursing program nursing students will progress year round (Fall, Spring and Summer).
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the master's degree in nursing program at Minnesota State University Moorhead are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The graduate major in nursing used guidelines from national and specialty organizations to develop a curriculum that prepares nurses for roles in nursing education and nursing administration/leadership of healthcare organizational systems.

MSUM nursing professor provides life-saving aid during emergency flight landing
Jill Holmstrom, professor of nursing, was the only medically trained person onboard a flight when a medical emergency took place, causing the plane to make an emergency landing.
Accelerated Programs Offer Students More Options
Over winter break, around 300 participants took advantage of MSUM's first-ever winter term. Students were able to take an online course at an accelerated fashion to get ahead of their degrees and lighten their course load during the academic year.
