Honors College Certificates

The Honors College at Minnesota State Moorhead offers flexible pathways, with five distinct certificates that students can pursue. Each certificate requires a total of nine credit hours. All courses within the certificates are elective options, and students can work toward one or more certificates at any point during their time at Moorhead.

Students who complete two certificates earn Honors Distinction upon graduation.

Each Honors certificate consists of 9 elective credits and can be completed individually or combined with another certificate to earn Honors Distinction.

Global Honors Certificate

While pursuing the Certificate in Global Honors, you will have the opportunity to broaden your horizons with learning experiences that span disciplinary backgrounds set in a backdrop of diverse cultures. Participate in traditional Study Abroad programs or specially curated Honors Experiential Travel classes. You can also complete this certificate right here on campus, without travel, by concentrating on a selection of interdisciplinary classes organized around developing a nuanced appreciation for the complexity of our multicultural, global world.

Honors Communication Certificate

Effective communication is one of the most highly valued abilities in any profession, and this certificate is the perfect way to hone your skills. Take courses that balance oral and written communication and practical application with theoretical perspectives. As a bonus, when you complete the Certificate in Honors Communication, you will be well on your way toward the Minor in Communication, which requires 15 credits of courses from the same selection included in the certificate.

The Certificate in Honors Entrepreneurship prepares you to chart your own course into the workplace.
