In 1962, while attending a junior college in his hometown of Fergus Falls, Minn., Joseph Kise (of infamous MSUM fame) was a visiting professor in one of Hollis Nelson’s classes. Kise spoke of the opportunities at MSUM, including programs and scholarships, and after some conversation, Hollis decided to transfer to Moorhead.

McKenna Togstad participated in the National Student Exchange (NSE) program which gave her the opportunity to study in New Jersey for a semester.

George Soule always knew he wanted to be a lawyer. After building a successful career, the 1976 alumnus now supports other American Indian students who have dreams of their own.

As a growth advisor for HealthPartners, Sarah Borgerding advises the organization on short- and long-term business decisions. The career perfectly balances the two degrees she earned from MSUM in 2003—business administration and economics.
