University Writing Support Center Consultants

The Writing Consultants: Please note that although each tutor has one or more specialty areas, each tutor is qualified to offer advice on any type of writing a student may bring.

  • Delaney J. Hartmann, Head Tutor:
Hello! My name is Delaney and I am the University Writing Support Center's head tutor. I am majoring in English with a writing emphasis, film production, and I am minoring in sociology. I spend a majority of my time studying literature or creating experimental films. I enjoy making collages and working with oil pastels, too. My greatest passion is literature. My favorite book is Moby Dick. I care very deeply about the literary world, and I hope to share that love wherever it may be needed.

  • Teddy Drew:
Heyo! I’m Teddy Drew (he/him). I’m majoring in English: Creative Writing. I’m a huge nerd and obsessed with everything DC and Marvel. I could ramble on about superheroes and comics all day long. I’m especially skilled when it comes to works of fiction or creative nonfiction, but I can help you with essays, papers, or anything you need!

  • Anna Melby:
Hi! I’m Anna and I go by she/her pronouns. I am a second year college student studying Speech-Language Hearing Sciences as well as American Sign Language and Deaf Studies. Some of my hobbies include reading, singing, and spending time outdoors. My greatest strengths in writing include structuring arguments, strengthening transitions, and helping the paper to flow better. I am also familiar with APA formatting and would be glad to help you out with that or anything else you might need!

  • River Miller:
Hello hello! I’m River (he/him). I’m studying to become a cartoonist! I’m majoring in animation, and I have the strongest urge to minor in another art field (if my bank account allows it). Some of my current hobbies involve drawing (who would’ve guessed) making/listening to music, cooking, watching movies/TV, creating characters and stories, thinking about my purpose and the meaning of life for every human being on earth right before I go to bed at night, and pretty much any other artsy-fartsy thing you can think of. Some of my greatest writing strengths involve the small stuff. I’m talking about correct grammar, compelling openings and titles, specific rules of MLA format (it’s my strongest format of writing), organization of your topic, and finding YOUR voice within YOUR writing. I personally believe these attributes are overlooked too much, so I’m your guy to point them out! And don’t worry, I can help with the other stuff, too.

  • Shavantae Roberts:
  • Noah Severud:
Hi! My name is Noah Severud, and my pronouns are he/him. My major is Communication Arts and Literature Education, and I’m excited for this opportunity to get more experience with helping other students! My biggest strength I believe I bring to the table is helping essays have a nicer flow, but I’m excited to help you with any aspect of your papers and/or any questions you may have! Some of my hobbies are listening to and playing music, watching movies and reading books. I’m a big Harry Potter nerd, and if you are too please do not hesitate to talk to me about it. Percy Jackson is way up there for me as well though, so once again, please visit with me about it. I’d love to help you out with anything you may need for your papers!

  • Julia Wilmesmeier:
Hey! My name is Julia Wilmesmeier (she/her). I’m currently a senior in the Speech-Lanaguage and Hearing Sciences program with a minor in Special Education. Outside of school and work, I enjoy writing short stories, journaling, old movies, and 80s music. When it comes to writing, I’m especially helpful towards improving the organization and wording of a piece along with strengthening introductions, conclusions, and transitions. I believe all essays and papers can benefit from our services, so don’t hesitate to stop by or make an appointment. I’m looking forward to helping you with your writing and learning more about your topic along the way!
