Friday

Introductions: Staff and Diplomats

10:00 - 11:00 am | Complete Immigration Documents and get student IDs: | CMU Ballroom
Please bring your passport, I-20 or DS-2019, visa and print I-94 for us to photocopy. You will fill out forms, so bring a pen. You will complete immigration documents that ISS staff needs in order to update the immigration database.

MANDATORY Math and English Placement Test
10:00 am | Meet at CMU Ballroom
At 8:45 am go to Center for Business. All undergraduate freshman and transfer students are required to take the Accuplacer math test! Transfer students who meet certain requirements are exempt from taking this test, but must provide written proof to ISS. The math test is waived if you score 460 or better for SAT math. Please bring in your score report. English test is waived if you score a 430 or better for SAT verbal. Remember, bring your SAT report.

MANDATORY Health Screening Test

ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (INCLUDING U.S. TRANSFER) MUST DO THE HEALTH SCREENING TEST! After the health screening test, Hendrix Health Center staff will let you know if you need to do the TB blood test. We will provide more information regarding the TB blood test later via email. If you have a pre-existing condition(s), please bring supporting medical documents.

International Student Services (ISS) Check out
1:30 - 4:30 pm | 2nd floor of CMU
All international students (Freshman, Transfer, Exchange) must check out with ISS staff. There will be table outside of ISS/CMU 114 to check out all international students. Failing to check out ISS will result in a hold on your MSUM account. Students must bring the following for the International Student Check out:

  • Print out of your spring course schedule
  • A payment receipt for the $2025 payment or wire transfer information or a print out from your MSUM eServices website (under bills and payments)
  • Local address Information
  • Dragon ID
  • Start ID access
  • International Student Orientation Survey

Join the Diplomats on this adventure around campus. You will be introduced to various offices and resources designed to assist you during your time here. (We will be walking around campus, so dress appropriately.)

All international students including US transfer students are required to have a TB blood test at Hendrix Clinic at this time. Please have breakfast and drink fluids before arriving to clinic. If you have had a TB blood test at another school bring documentation.
