Diederich Art Gallery
The Red River Watercolor Society and Artist Network is a non-profit organization of art lovers who strive to advance education about, and practice of, all aspects of water media arts. We reach out to include community members, and artists at all levels as we promote the value of art to communities, art education for individuals, and the challenge and the satisfaction of the practice of creating art through water media.
Walter Piehl Retrospective
September 5 - October 12
Art Annex in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts
In collaboration with the Rourke Art Museum based in Moorhead, MN, this retrospective showcases the scope of Walter's career from his early exploration as a student at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND, to the development of his signature style and method—as he would say it—of ‘putting on paint.’ The exhibition gives the viewers the opportunity to visually experience the evolution of an artist's style, looking at 56 years of creative energy.

Everyday Reframed: An MSUM Permanent Collections Exhibition
January 19 - February 2
Diederich Art Gallery
Co-curated by MSUM students, this exhibition gathers familiar moments, some that can pass unnoticed. These works exhibit ordinary, daily routines, overlooked spaces, landscapes, and habitual gestures. Rather than offering grand conclusions, this exhibition opens a space for recognition. In encountering these works, viewers may find their own routines reflected back onto them and discover that what is most familiar can also be the most revealing.

The School of Art’s annual exhibition showcasing artwork by MSUM students. This year, the exhibition will be juried by MSUM alumni Jonathan Twingley, a visual artist and writer who is based in Jersey City, New Jersey. His drawings and paintings have been published by the Atlantic, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Nation, Johns Hopkins University Gazette, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and the New Republic, among many others.
