Transfer students completing the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum at a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities institution or the University of Minnesota will be deemed to have satisfied the LASC at MSUM. Students who transfer to MSUM with a partially completed Minnesota Transfer Curriculum are not required to repeat any goal areas they have already fulfilled, but must complete the remaining requirements of LASC. Grades A, B, C, and D for MnTC courses are accepted in transfer; however, a cumulative MnTC GPA of 2.0 is required.

Minnesota Transfer Pathways

Minnesota State University Moorhead is the destination for Transfer Pathways. Transfer Pathways are paths to a four-year degree that start at community colleges in the Minnesota State system. Students first complete a fixed Transfer Pathway curriculum of lower-division courses at a nearby community college—then they seamlessly transfer to a corresponding bachelor’s program at Minnesota State University Moorhead to complete their degrees. A student with a completed degree would need to complete the remaining 60 credits for their baccalaureate degree.

After you finish your associate degree pathway and are admitted to Minnesota State University Moorhead, you will complete 60 credits to earn your four-year degree. Connect with an MSUM advisor to help you make the decisions to begin your journey at MSUM. Additional degree requirements and eligibility criteria for certain program are available on each program's webpage.

Community & Technical College Transfer Guides

Technical college credits will transfer up to a block of 16 credits unless part of an articulated program; additional credits may then be granted. Articulation Agreements are formal agreements between Minnesota State University Moorhead and other colleges and universities to accept transfer courses for specific programs. Please visit the Community & Technical College Transfer Guide website to learn more.

GERTA Guides

If you are transferring from North Dakota and have completed the General Education Requirement Transfer Agreement (GERTA), an approved set of general education courses within the North Dakota University System, Minnesota State University Moorhead will consider their Liberal Arts and Sciences Curriculum (LASC) fulfilled. North Dakota students complete GERTA requirements by completing an AA or an AS degree in that system. Specific courses will be evaluated individually, if the entire GERTA is not satisfied.

Other States General Requirements

If you have completed an AA degree in another state, and as a result have completed the general education requirements for that institution, Minnesota State University Moorhead will consider their Liberal Arts and Sciences Curriculum (LASC) fulfilled.
