A

Approach

Approach is our guiding philosophy, and how it interrelates with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the social model. We strive to be authentic and open to understanding individual experiences while affirming your identity and self-determination. Our goal is to affirm your experience and advocate for your right to inclusion.

C

Connect

We connect with the student thru an interactive process and “connecting the dots.” This is an interplay of the individual and their condition/disability combined with the barrier and situation/circumstances throughout this process.

C

Consider

We consider reasonable accommodations while recommending other tools and supports for students. This includes evaluating course outcomes and collaborating with faculty to ensure an equitable opportunity to access the course.

E

Empower

We empower the student to participate equitably and pursue their goals more broadly in our conversations/processes. We connect with faculty to ensure understanding of accommodations and collaborate on ways to improve access and promote equity.

S

Support

We support faculty/students through the implementation of accommodations while navigating questions, concerns, or complexities which may occur related to those accommodations.

S

Strive

We strive to engage the campus to increase awareness, acceptance and inclusion (allyship) for everyone. We promote accessibility and continually evolve in our understanding through receptivity and learning.
