  • LinkedIn Learning Online Training Library

Lynda.com is now LinkedIn Learning! Every student, staff, and faculty member has unlimited access to the entire library of on-demand training courses. That's access to nearly 7,000 video tutorials on over 630 topics, 24 hours a day for all MSUM students and employees. The LinkedIn Learning site license was funded by the Online & Distance Education Differential Tuition.

LinkedIn Learning provides current and in-depth training on the latest software tools and techniques, including Photoshop, Office365, AutoCAD, FinalCut Pro, digital photography, print and web design, animation, as well as writing a research paper or resume, public speaking and communication tips, study skills, mindfulness, tips for success, resilience, networking and so much more! Up to 35 new courses and videos are added each month.

Access the LinkedIn Learning portal and login using your StarID (StarID@go.minnstate.edu – student or StarID@minnstate.edu – faculty or staff– plus password) credentials. This site is accessible from any location, whether you are on or off campus. VPN is not needed.

How to Create a LinkedIn Learning Account

    1. Go to the LinkedIn Learning portal.
    2. Enter your StarID login username and password and click "Enter".
      • Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
      • Faculty and Staff: StarID@minnstate.edu

    3. Two options are available when you log in:
      LinkedIn Learning Portal Options
      1. "Connect my LinkedIn account". This option will connect your LinkedIn account to your LinkedIn Learning profile, so you will get personalized course recommendations based on what is trending in your field, be able to post your course certifications directly to your profile, etc.
      2. "Continue without connecting my LinkedIn account". This option will not connect your LinkedIn account to your LinkedIn Learning profile. You will have full access to all courses, see what is trending at MSUM, have abilities to share certifications via e-mail or post to various forms of social media, etc.

Either option can be selected and changed at any time.
    4. Continue through set up steps (i.e. sign in to LinkedIn or enter your First Name, Last Name, and MSUM email address).
    5. You now have a LinkedIn Learning account, which can be accessed via the portal or D2L Brightspace.
    6. Be sure to "Log Out" when you finish your session.
