Pre-Athletic Training
Athletic trainers are healthcare professionals who prevent, diagnose, and treat muscle and bone injuries. They work closely with physicians to provide emergency care and develop rehabilitation programs that help physically active patients safely return to activity.
What You’ll Study
Requirements may vary by program, so it’s important to research specific prerequisites. Most athletic training programs require coursework in biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, physics, exercise science, and psychology. MSUM offers a 5-year degree plan that combines a BS in Exercise Science and a Master of Athletic Training, allowing students to complete prerequisite coursework while progressing directly into the professional program. Explore the 5-year Exercise Science and Athletic Training degree plan to see how your coursework aligns.
Students are encouraged to work closely with a pre-health advisor to ensure prerequisite courses align with their intended graduate programs.
