O.C. Nelson Company Store was owned by Ole Christian Nelson, a pioneer from the area of Battle Lake, Minnesota. The original store burned in 1906 and it was reorganized as a partnership. His daughter was Mrs. Helen Nelson Englund of Battle Lake, Minnesota.
The Drahmann Store started business near Rush Lake, Minnesota in 1867, but later moved to Perham, Minnesota. This move was probably made to take advantage of the Northern Pacific Railroad, which missed Rush Lake and established Perham as the area’s station.
The Aabye Store, later the Ericksen Fairway Store, was started in 1880 near Perley, Minnesota by Andrew Aabye. In 1884, the railroad came to Perley and Mr. Aabye moved his store into Perley. It was one of the first buildings in Perley. The store was owned and operated for three generations before its final closing.
