Learning Opportunities for the SLHS Program

We’re committed to providing you the best opportunities to gain knowledge and skill throughout your entire college career. You’ll get hands-on experience in MSUM’s on-site clinic, and learn by observing and doing. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to explore your passion beyond the classroom by immersing yourself in one of our many service-learning opportunities.

The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA), in conjunction with Collegiate SERTOMA, encourages professional interest among college and university students in the study of normal and disordered human communication. The group also actively participates in social and service-oriented events on campus and in the Fargo-Moorhead Community.

The Fargo-Moorhead Chapter of the National Stuttering Association (NSA) meets in the SHLS department at MSUM. NSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope and empowerment to children and adults who stutter, their families, and professionals, through support, education, advocacy and research.
