Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Maggie Jordahl

Maggie Jordahl, HR technician in Human Resources, onboards new and returning hires.

Q: How do you prefer to start your work day?
A: Slow, with a hot cup of coffee. Usually, I need to get organized and make a list for the day.

Q: What book are you currently reading?
A: Hurt People Hurt People by Sandra D. Wilson. I thought it was just a phrase people said, until my old employer encouraged me to read it.

Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: A really big part of it is the culture and the environment of MSUM. I attended MSUM for one year when I was younger, and I’ve seen this campus culture grow and change for the better.

Q: What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?
A: I have to take a moment to pause or reset, usually that ends up being a walk or change of scenery for a little bit, but I also sometimes just need to eat something.

Q: What’s something, big or small, that you’re really good at?
A: I’m really good at making workflows. I can create things to run as smooth and streamlined as a McDonald’s assembly line, but I need time to be able to create it.

Q: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
A: I’m very much an introvert. I’m super quiet at the beginning, but when I get comfortable, I’m very talkative, so my friends and coworkers sometimes forget I need my alone time.
