We recommend that you do not use the Dropbox in Desire2Learn for large multimedia assignments due to size and network limitations. In the past, students have experienced issues with uploading their large video and narrated PowerPoint files to the D2L Dropbox. Some instructors have also come across downloading issues when opening the files from the Dropbox.
You may want to consider using one of the following options for students to submit their large multimedia projects:

'Cloud storage' is the use of data storage from another source over the internet. Basically, instead of using a flash drive or hard drive, you connect to a company's website and upload your files to their data storage servers.
We recommend using Google Drive, Microsoft's SkyDrive, or DropBox. Please view our tutorials if you wish to learn to use cloud storage.
eFolioMN is an e-portfolio, a web-based version of your
resume, experiences, goals, personal achievements, and more. Unlike a paper
portfolio, an e-portfolio can ‘come alive’ and include documents, links to
related sites, examples of your efforts and activities, and greater detail
