  • Dragon Welcome Week at MSU-Moorhead is a great way for your organization to get involved and increase interest and participation. Let me tell you how:

Welcome Week Packets: A great way to promote your organization is to develop a flyer, brochure or promotional item to be included in the new student information swag bag. We need 1,000 copies delivered to the Comstock Memorial Union, room 112 by Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016.

Move-In Crew: (Thursday, August 18th, 2016)  Be the first to welcome new students and their families into the MSU-Moorhead Dragon Family as they move into the residence halls. We are asking for volunteers from 9am - 3pm. There are a variety of opportunities available, each asking for at least a one-hour commitment. The Move-In Crew represents a first and lasting impression to our new students and their families.

Sidewalk Café: (Saturday, August 20th, 2016) Organizations and departments may sponsor a booth from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. We encourage groups to bring food, give-a-ways, or other items to hand out (pizza, subs, ice cream, soda, punch, pens, stickers, candy, yo-yo’s, etc.). NOTE: attendance is 800 or more students so groups should plan on enough food for 400. This is held outside near Murray Commons and the Holmquist SLAB. We will supply a six-foot table and two chairs for each booth. You are in charge of providing your own ice if needed.

Dragons After Dark: (Friday, August 19th, 2016) You may choose to donate a gift card/certificate or item to be given as a door prize the evening of the our annual Dragons After Dark event. All co-sponsors will be advertised on our “Sponsor Thanks Bulletin Board.” If you wish to donate, please send your donation to MSUM First Year Programs, 1104 7th Ave S, Moorhead, MN 56563 or contact us if you would like someone from our office to pick up the donation.

Campus Capers:(Saturday, August 20th, 2016) Join MSU-Moorhead’s most popular variety show! Here’s an opportunity for your campus organization to strut your stuff - advertise who you are, what you’re about, and when you’ll hold your first meeting. All participants must perform a skit.  Note: Student organizations only.
