MSUM Study Abroad Exchanges

  • One way for you to study abroad for a semester or a school year is to go on an exchange program. Exchanges are formal relationships between MSUM and another educational institution.

    Some are bilateral, meaning the same number of students come and go between the two institutions. In this case, available spots may be limited. Others are open, so any number of MSUM students can participate.

  • Keele, UK

    Keele University, nestled in the English midlands (between Liverpool and Birmingham), offers a wide range of majors to study for one semester or a year. A one-for-one exchange means you pay MSUM tuition. The Keele exchange is limited to three students per year, depending on exchange balance.     Lincoln, UK

    The Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies in Oxford, England, gives you an opportunity to study art, literature, history, philosophy, languages and other humanities for a semester or a year.     University of Agder, Norway

    The University of Agder is a new program providing you an exciting, cost-effective way to study humanities subjects (LASC courses) and learn the Norwegian language. Application requirements: sophomore or higher, minimum 2.5 GPA. Learn more about University of Agder.

    Kanda, JP

    A 10-month intensive Japanese language program lets you study at Kanda University for International Studies, located near Tokyo in Japan's Chiba prefecture, while paying MSUM tuition.     Kanto Gakuin, JP

    Located in Yokohama, immediately south of Tokyo, Kanto Gakuin offers programs in intensive Japanese language and culture. Ideal for East Asian Studies majors, you will pay MSUM tuition for this program.     Tsuda University is a private university for women, where you can gain intensive Japanese language study and culture courses over a semester or a year. Application requirements: low-intermediate level of Japanese study, minimum 2.8 GPA, junior or higher. Explore Tsuda University.

    Chung-Ang, KR

    You can enroll in LASC-type courses taught strictly in English or take Korean language and culture courses taught in both Korean and English by spending a semester or a year at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, Korea.     Sunshine Coast, AU

    Located 45 miles north of Brisbane on Australia's eastern coast, the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) gives you an affordable option for study abroad Down Under. A “sending only” exchange, MSUM's USC program is substantially less expensive than most programs in Australia. You can spend either Fall (July-Nov), Spring (Feb-June), or an entire year at USC.
