Eurospring Program Cost

  • The Eurospring program is currently on hiatus.  Check back for updates later during fall semester 2019.

You will pay MSUM tuition and fees for spring semester, along with a program fee to cover the cost of travel. Detailed budgets are available during the fall interest sessions. Tuition and fees must be paid according to MSUM’s tuition payment schedule. Fall orientation sessions cover costs and how to budget for expenses.

The program fee of $9,700 (estimated) generally includes round-trip airfare, lodging and some meals abroad, International Student ID Card, insurance, ground transportation for group events, tickets for group events, and regional air, coach, and rail group travel while abroad. Students pay the program fee cost to MSUM on a payment plan determined by each student’s individual financial situation. The program fee must be paid in full by the Friday before departure (date TBD) at the latest.

Students are responsible for their own expenses prior to departure and after return, and while abroad for some meals and entry tickets, and personal expenses such as passport fees, books, and laundry. ($1,920, estimating $240 each week for 8 weeks).

    Withdrawal from Eurospring

Minnesota State University Moorhead makes financial commitments on your behalf for the Eurospring program. Refunds can only be made if monies paid out on your behalf to service providers are recoverable.

Withdrawal from the program must be made in writing to the MSUM Study Abroad Office. The letter/email must be postmarked/timestamped on or before the deadline date, or hand-delivered by 4:00 pm of the deadline date. Deadlines will be provided to you at the time your application is accepted. If you withdraw on or before the deadline, you will receive a refund of any payment made (not including the application fee), minus any costs already incurred. If you withdraw from the program after the deadline, you will be required to pay any non-recoverable fees (such as airfare and other pre-paid travel costs).

  • Cost

Students pay costs in three areas.  First, students pay MSUM tuition and fees for spring semester.  This payment is due during the university's standard payment schedule.

The second cost is the program fee of $9,700 (estimated).  The program fee generally covers group travel, and includes lodging and some meals abroad, round-trip airfare, International Student ID Card, insurance, ground transportation and tickets for group events, and regional air, coach, and rail group travel while abroad.  Students pay the program fee to MSUM on a payment plan determined by each student's individual financial situation.  The program fee must be paid in full by 4:30 PM on the Friday before departure (March 1, 2019) at the latest.

The third area of expenses is personal costs.  Students are responsible for their own expenses prior to departure and after return, and while abroad for some meals and entry tickets, and personal expenses such as passport fees, books, and laundry ($1,920, estimating $240 each week for 8 weeks).

Minnesota State University Moorhead makes financial commitments on your behalf for the Eurospring program.  Refunds can only be made if monies paid out on your behalf are recoverable.

Withdrawal from the program must be made in writing to the Study Abroad Office, MSUM, 1104 7th Ave South, Bridges 249, Moorhead, MN 56563.  The letter/email must be postmarked/timestamped on or before the deadline date, or hand-delivered to Bridges 249 by 4:00 PM on the deadline date.

Payments are made to the Business Office by check, credit card, or financial aid.  The program fee will be charged to your spring account once we have enough students to ensure the program will run.  Tuition will be added to the program fee once students are registered for spring semester.

    Financial Aid

Students who receive financial aid can use it for studying abroad, including loans, grants, and scholarships. Please visit the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid to determine what your spring award will be based on program costs.

MSUM has the David P. Flint Endowed Scholarship for Eurospring students with financial need.  The first 9 qualifying students who are accepted into the program are guaranteed a $500 scholarship for 2019.

Group financial aid information meetings will be held during fall semester, and students should also consult individually with financial aid officers regarding their aid award for spring.
