Exploration Learning Community
You should live in this community if you have declared General Studies as a major, which means you haven’t quite decided on your major. Students who have declared a major, but still aren’t 100% on that chosen major can also participate.
This community will help you discover your strengths and passions, as well as gain knowledge and assistance to help select a major that best fits your talents and aspirations. This community is located in West Snarr.
Exploration Learning Community Required Common Courses
Fall
- FYE 101: First Year Experience (1 credit)
- SOC 110: Intro to Sociology (3 credits)
- BIOL 104: Human Biology (3 credits)
Spring
- COMM 100: Speech Communication (3 credits)
- PSY 113: General Psychology (3 credits)
As a member of the Exploration learning community, you will...
- live with other students who have declared General Studies as a major and are exploring how their interests can lead to a career.
- take three classes with students who live on your floor.
- take a career/life planning course instructed by a faculty member who has worked closely with students who are still exploring their options.
- have a Dragon Mentor dedicated to providing you with various opportunities for career exploration and support.
- be exposed to career options that can be attained through the various majors offered.
