Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Jeffrey Salinas-Jenni

Meet Jeffrey Salinas-Jenni, OAS Intermediate for the office of Diversity & Inclusion. He helps with the day-to-day functions of the office and makes sure everything is running smoothly.

Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: I’ve always liked college education. My spouse is currently a student here and, learning through his experience, I felt like this job would be a fun chance to see what it would be like to work on a university campus. It feels like I’m getting back to my roots and the office of Diversity & Inclusion is a powerful and important piece to have on a college campus.

Q: What got you into this line of work?
A: I identify as gay, so I’ve always cared about the LGBTQ community and had a passion for inclusivity and diversity.

Q: What is something interesting you are working on right now?
A: I’m helping organize the tri-college powwow being hosted at MSUM in the spring.

Q: What is a piece of advice you like?
A: Be aware of yourself. You are at an age where you are discovering who you are and pushing boundaries. Also be aware of the resources available around you during this time and know you have support.

Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A: Japan or Thailand
