Welcome to the #DragonFamily: Frank King

Meet Frank King, MSUM’s new associate provost for diversity, equity, and inclusion. He works with faculty to incorporate DEI into curriculum across the university.

Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: This provost position is a great opportunity for me to learn. I get to work with faculty directly as a fairly new administrator. This position also gave me the chance to grow.

Q: How do you start your workday?
A: I have a cup of coffee, listen to Democracy Now news and look through my emails and schedule for the day.

Q: What is something you are learning right now?
A: The university has a lot of moving parts. It’s an interesting challenge to get an understanding on how everything works because I don’t know much about MSUM yet.

Q: What advice do you live by?
A: Be yourself. Always be willing to learn. Don’t get setback by failure.

Q: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
A: In Washington, there is a lentil festival where they have lentil flavored ice cream. You can only get it once a year and it's amazing. It has more of a vanilla flavor than lentil. On a regular basis, I like Butter Pecan.

Welcome to the #DragonFamily, Frank!
