Meet Brett Skjold, MSUM’s new general maintenance worker for the East Snarr dorms. He maintains the cleanliness of the building and makes sure everything is running smoothly.
Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: It’s closer to home.
Q: Do you have any previous connections here?
A: My mother worked here 25 years ago for Sodexo.
Q: What has surprised you about MSUM?
A: All the updates to the buildings since I was last here.
Q: How do you prefer to start your workday?
A: I listen to audiobooks or podcasts.
Q: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: New Zealand or Ireland. I’ve always wanted to visit them.

Faculty, staff innovation rewarded with Minnesota State grants
Several MSUM faculty and staff members’ innovative ideas were chosen as finalists to receive funding for projects based around diversity, equity and inclusion. These projects included small seed (up to $10,000) and large seed ($25,000) categories.
