Welcome to the Dragon Family: Trina Spaeth

Meet Trina Spaeth, MSUM’s new Adjunct Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Information Systems!

Q: What drew you to MSUM?
A: I did my undergraduate here in Speech Communications with a concentration in Film and Television Production. The campus always draws me back; there is always a sense of happiness and nostalgia here.

Q: What energizes you at work?
A: Obviously the students. When I was a student, it was exciting and you come back and you get to experience that youthful energy again as a professor. You feed off their energy and it makes you want to assist in their education.

Q: If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?
A: Reese Witherspoon.

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: Southern India. I was invited to a wedding there by a friend and chose not to go, and it is one of my biggest regrets.

Q: What is the most interesting thing you are working on right now?
A: I’m studying learning styles and how to incorporate them into online courses. So many instructors forget that students learn in different ways and it is important to incorporate all of them and to not just use one or two.

Welcome to the #DragonFamily, Trina!
