Over winter break, around 300 participants took advantage of MSUM's first-ever winter term. Students were able to take an online course at an accelerated fashion to get ahead of their degrees and lighten their course load during the academic year.

When Kevin Hanson walked into Gate City Bank one morning in 1983, he didn’t know if they were hiring. He had graduated with a bachelor’s in finance from MSUM two days prior and opened a phone book just hours before to look for job openings. 

Moyinoluwa (Mo) Abiola ‘17, a senior analyst at Goldman Sachs, knows the importance of connecting with the people around her in a place she loves. 

President Anne Blackhurst wants to recognize MSUM’s Executive Mentorship Banquet for their focus on what’s really important, which is how our students have been changed by their college experience and how they’ll use their education to make important contributions to their professions and communities.

"House Hunters" featured MSUM alumni Poonam Budhiraja (2012, Broadcast Journalism and Film Studies), Jerry Griggs (2016, Business Administration and Management) and Alexa Dixson-Griggs (2015, Social Work) as Budhiraja showed the local couple houses to fit their growing family.

Rick Thoreson '81 (Business Administration, economics minor) has helped recognize outstanding alumni on the MSUM Foundation Board since 2016.

The following students from the College of Business, Analytics & Communication have been named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead dean’s list in recognition of academic achievement fall semester 2021. Students must maintain a 3.25 or higher grade point average and carry 12 graded credits to qualify for the honor. Congratulations!

Troy Nelson graduated from MSUM with a degree in finance in 1998. He credits MSUM with giving him resilience and the right tools needed to start his career amidst initial rejection.

Xavier Reed secured a corporate job before he graduated from MSUM. A year later, he quit and pursued his second career and first passion: education.

Michelle Olson is a notable business leader and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in public relations and integrated marketing.

Peter Geib, professor emeritus in the Paseka School of Business, has always enjoyed sharing his love of global leadership with students in his class. He is the recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Service Award
