Executive Mentorship Program

  • Executive Mentorship program is a 1-credit course offered each semester for juniors and seniors. You are matched with community executives to explore career choices, network with professionals, and gain advice about transitioning from college to professional work.

    The program seeks to create collaborative relationships between experienced executives and upper-level School of Business students. It is aimed at opening the door of practical learning by fostering relationships with mentors to encourage learning about a specific industry, the day-to-day responsibilities in a particular functional position, or explore culture fit with companies of interest.

    Participating in the Executive Mentorship program will help you begin your career with enhanced confidence and professionalism in your chosen field along with a general idea of how processes work in your area of concentration. You will gain insight and wisdom from your assigned mentor, plus have have opportunities to network with other professionals.

    • Attend class weekly for self-development activities and feedback

    • Networking

    To Mentors:
    We need you. Our students want to connect with and learn from business professionals who can give insight into their future career choice. To be a mentor, all you need is desire to help a young student get off on the right start in his/her career.

    Mentor Roles and Responsibilities

    • Share knowledge about education, career, corporate cultures, ethics and industries.
    • Describe the steps taken in their personal career. What has been successful and what could be different
    • Create an open and comfortable environment for students to find out about their career field.
    • Communicate clearly the expectations you have for the student
    • Discuss opportunities the student could explore.
    • Be available to student and communicate regularly with him/her (2-4 hours per month)
