Minnesota State University Moorhead offers automatic, competitive and need-based scholarships to transfer students. Automatic scholarships, based on transfer GPA, are awarded at the time of admission. In addition to automatic scholarships awarded through the admissions process, the Minnesota State University Alumni Foundation offers scholarships gifted by alumni, businesses, friends and foundations to incoming, current, and graduate students. Many of these scholarships are available through individual departments, colleges and programs.
Automatic scholarships are easy — just apply and be admitted. A separate application is not required. Transfer scholarships will be awarded automatically to undergraduate transfer students (successfully completed 24 semester or 36 quarter credit hours), who are U.S. citizens, seeking their first undergraduate degree. Full-time enrollment (12 or more MSUM credits each semester) is required to receive the scholarship.
*The calculation of the weighted GPA is the number of credits and GPA points from all schools attended at the time of admission.
New undergraduate transfer students from community/technical colleges who are members of this Honor Society, who are U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens seeking their first undergraduate degree and who have successfully completed a minimum of 24 credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher from the school you are transferring from may apply and be awarded this scholarship.
MSUM students in the second semester of their sophomore year or later, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher at the end of fall semester are eligible to apply. A letter of endorsement from a current MSUM faculty member proposing how the applicant will be engaged in an apprentice relationship under the faculty member's supervision must be submitted with the application.
The scholarship is $10,000 ($5,000 per year for tuition for the final two years of attendance of a student's first bachelor's degree).
