The Financial Aid Award Letter is posted to the secure MSUM eServices website and accessed with the student’s STAR ID and password. An e-mail is sent to the student’s “mnstate.edu” e-mail address when the award letter is ready. The Financial Aid Award Letter lists expected types of aid. Any adjustments or inaccuracies in this information should be reported to the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid.
As scholarship recipients, it is customary to write thank you letters to donors who have established scholarships at MSU Moorhead. Thank you letters help maintain the connection between donors and recipients and should be written in a timely fashion. Your sentiment does not have to be long, but it is a nice way for the donors to find out some information about the person who has been awarded their scholarship.
Your signed thank you letter (Word document) along with the scholarship acceptance form must be submitted to the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid, Owens 107. Your thank you letter will be forwarded to the Alumni Foundation Office and they will mail your letter to the appropriate scholarship representative. Your scholarship acceptance and thank you letter must be received prior to the disbursement of scholarship funds.
As a guide, you can find a template, notes, and samples for the thank you letter below. It is important to use your own words and be sincere.
An annual luncheon is held in the fall of each year (typically early November) to recognize scholarship recipients and representatives. As a scholarship recipient awarded a named scholarship, it is important for you to attend the luncheon. You will receive information with details of the event around mid-October and an RSVP will be needed.
