Associate Vice President of Finance & Administration & Campus Information Officer
President Tim Downs leads Minnesota State University Moorhead’s senior executive leadership team. Dan Heckaman serves on the senior executive team and coordinates, leads and manages all information technology related aspects of the university. He is responsible for developing, allocating and controlling the IT budget and staff, directing 5 teams of IT professionals. He earned a B.S. in management information systems from Valley City State University and an MBA from MSU Moorhead. He was previously employed at Meritcare/Sanford, where he held various IT positions and served on their IT leadership team.
Information Technology
The Information Technology Office delivers a broad array of services to enhance teaching and learning and provides access to and support for research, administrative and communication technologies. Areas of responsibility under the IT division include networking infrastructure and cabling, telecommunications, data storage and backups, server technology, desktop equipment, software development, website development, decision support systems and reporting, customer support, professional IT development and technical leadership.
